When I listen to this song honestly the first thing that comes to mind is sympathy for a person on life support, and the debate whether or not to keep that person alive past a certain point. I doubt that's it, just some of the lyrics make me think of that.
@robbyisstupid Now that you said it, I think you're right. The most part of the lyrics can be read picturing a person being paralized (maybe for clinical reasons). Maybe the cheeks are bruised because the speaker can't move them the way they want and the dreams are all they have besides laying in the bed. Things around annoy them that much because they can't do anything to change it since they're "trapped" and it hurts emotionally (and maybe physically).
