But like the lyrics say, on the first date she ran away (can be interpreted however you like, I guess), and he mentions phone tag. He's got to ring her if he wants to talk, etc;
and he just wants her to stop acting so apathetic, (Don’t act like you don’t care), and to be less shy, maybe.
