I guess I am the only one who pays this song any attention. I really don't know what the whole song is about, but one day while I was absentmindedly listening to it something came to me (that's how it usually happens w/ me, once I stop thinking about it, it comes to me). Anyway this part:

To me it seems like he's saying "why are you putting a wall between us and trying to protect yourself?" He feels it's a betrayal to him that she is not opening up and letting herself be vulnerable to him or their love or whatever.
