no i dont think anyone cheated here. i think what happened was the girl wants to be with the guy but she's afraid of committing to him show she's running the relationship into the ground (or as the song says "pushing it into the ground"). the boy is getting aggravated with her being unable to commit to him and did something stupid. the chorus is saying to not have a fear in this world. if the girl didnt have a fear everything would be perfectly fine.
