I think thsi song has a simple meaning, I believe the words in quotations are words that she has heard from someone or various people at some point in her life (being that she says these thoughts in her head arent her own) and they play in her head daily like a tape. They are things that lots of us have heard Im sure and carry around with us to new relationships, friendships, just in life in general.
