I can't believe I'm the first person to comment on this song. I really like this one. It's not their best, but it's one of my favorite nonethless. The music video is actually pretty fun to watch- just a bunch of clips from the beginning of their music journey to where they are now.
It wasn't what I was expecting exactly
I don't really know the meaning, so I'll go for a couple options. It could easily be about war. It might also be about a relationship-not necessarily a romantic relationship, though.

Should we keep this open ended, just for us"
I love that line. I think this song is different than a lot of their other stuff. I like how they have such a variety.
And a third thing the song could be about is how they dealt with their previous record label, and about the reflections in all their impurities.
