A Whole Child Ago

I love this song, one of my favourites on Puzzle. Here's my take on the lyrics:

• He doesn't want to tell someone he loves them, but finds out they want him too.

You're not allowed to live anymore and a whole child ago I would sleep all day doing handstands in bottle bins to prove that im sane and im not fooling around

• Maybe later on, they have a child together, which keeps him up when he usually would be sleeping, and pretty much rules their lives. Not so sure about the handstands bit, maybe the crying is driving him crazy?

Looks like we made it I can tell that she'd been flying looks like we made it tonight

• 'Flying' maybe a reference to smoking cannabis to relieve the stress of coping with a newborn?

I'm the second devil on your right or left with an eyeball melting out the corner of my mouth

• No idea with this one. My best guess is she's hallucinating, as it all seems very random.

Your wings are bleeding you're not supposed to fly anymore

• She shouldn't be smoking cannabis now she has a child, if flying is referring to that.

• On about her still smoking cannabis, but this time he actually catches her at it: "I saw her in the sky". "Why don't you just ask her yourself" could either be meant in a 'don't believe me? ask her yourself' manner, or the pseudo-audience (whoever 'you' is) asked him to ask her a question, and he tells 'You' to ask her theirself.
