I think this song is kind of about the band moving away from being Joy Division and Ian Curtis. "No looking back, now we're pushing through. We'll change these feelings, we'll taste and see. But never guess how the him would scream." Those last lines seem to suggest that they're trying to move forward but there will always be that part of them thinking about Ian...I don't know. That's kind of lame, but whatever.
I love Hooky's voice on this! He sang this song because his voice is more similar to Ian's than Bernard's, so I think that in itself is indicative that they are trying to find their own direction but not forgetting that they were once Joy Division.
