Many songs by akron/family seems to revolve around the idea that the natural state of humans has been lost and must be regained, not necessarily in society but in the individual.
"The mountains slip through
Herds of elk to return to the plains.

and illusory appear to meet
Illusory at points horize, but
no point exists"
I think this is a poetic description of the state of humanity in its natural state, both in practical terms, like the hunter-gatherer means of existence, but also, the second verse to me describes the psyche of one who exists in this state. That is one who's conception of the universe and existence is open and receptive to infinity, which I feel results in the only pure form of existing. I know this is making me sound like quite the hippie, but that's what these guys do to you. Think of what happens when you bring the assumption that science can explain everything to your construct of reality, everything becomes very limited and parcelized and abstracted beyond anyform of recognition by the human experience. We humans cannot experience a chemical reaction directly, the phenomonology of our existence prevents us from this, we can only think of what chemical reactions are in abstract terms, thus removing ourselves (atleast to an extent) from the actual experience of those reactions, be it taste sense, or whatever.

I think this line signifies the fact that although we may assume we understand things our ultimate questions have remained unanswered by science and all other tools we use search for answers. The universe continues to exists, sunrise and sunset, on and on, and we have no more of a true understanding of it than we did when we were without technology and science.
"Sun, a chemical reacting ahead above then gone behind, and thus are days and time and our movement/spaces are defined. We finish in the dark"
I think this line is talking about how we create and discover explainations for our questions, but they are only partial answers to an ultimate question, a question seemingly has no answer and distracts us from a state of pure existence (ie. enlightenment).

I think this may be about how the possibility of pure existence or enlightenment is still available to us if we are able to disentangle ourselves from our questions and assumptions about existence and instead just exist in the moment, ie. experience the full phenomenology of existence...
