ryebreadisme - I'm pretty sure the "Just like the ocean" bit was only in an early version of this song. It was in the version I first downloaded, but when I bought the album, I discovered it's since been removed. Shame, it was my favourite part of the song (though, it's still great either way - gotta love the melody to the whole thing!).

I also DEFINITELY think he says the "gorgeous evil angel" line as opposed to the "gorgeous he will lay in gems" one. Listen to the remix of this song on the Tiger & the Duke re-release - the line's a lot clearer there and there's very little doubt as to what he's saying.

On another note, I'm aware that the title of this song relates to the Japanese at the beginning (and the title of "Horses in the Sky," too), but "My horse must lose" is a fairly recognisable Simpsons quote (Homer sings it in "Saddlesore Galactica") - think there's any meaning/reason behind it or just a coincidence?
