I think in this song Ariel realizes that religions and dogmas just makes differences between societies, so he has to follow his own beliefs, to do what he thinks he should do. And that's where he realizes that his own goal in life is to love. Not to follow other's people beliefs, just to love:

So, what i think is that he realized that his own goal is to live for his own love.
