Lying there
With a halo in her hair she cried
There are feathers everywhere
But it's fine
You do this all the time
-a girl that was once very innocent is getting sucked into a world of drugs by a boyfriend, and shes high and seeing feathers
Crying now
Through a rusted smile she knows
This isn't how he paid the bills before
Drug farm entrepreneur
-this kinda gives us a picture of thier earlier life, she used to be happy and he used to not be a drug dealer, but now they've both gotten mixed up in a different life and shes not high anymore and shes thinking about those days and shes crying
Go spin circles for me
Wound relentlessly
Around the words we used to sling
Oh, such torturous things
Always chewing up the only ones
I ever mean
-the first 3 lines r kind of saying that they've been fighting and hes kind of amused by it "go spin circles for me", he enjoys watching her get mad, then hes saying that these fights and circles or w/e r messing up the words hes trying to say now and how its hurting the relationship
If you're goin' then go
Go go go
-hes telling her to stop threatening to leave him and actually do it, but she cant b/c she loves him
Watch love
Get strangled by a kite's cold strings
Fall comes early and summer leaves
As a storm with the car keys
-the first 2 lines r saying how the drugs ruined thier love, a kite is something that looks like fun, but the strings could wrap around u if ur not careful, so they thought the drugs would be fun, but the eventually ruined thier relationship, i think the 3rd line is like school sort of, summer is fun and everythings innocent, but fall comes fast and u go back to school where everythings dramatic and stressful and it really is depressing cuz ur thinking of how much fun summer was, then the last line kind of sounds mishchievous (i know i didnt spell that right!) the way brendon sings it, like she threw away his car keys one night when she was mad and said the storm blew em away!
