Such As It Ends Lyrics

I am currently convinced that this song was inspired by Indiana Jones. It's from Marion Ravenwood's point of view and is takes place before and during Raiders of the lost Ark. That means that the narrator is a female and the subject is male. Now, pay attention...

Verse one talks about how he left her to go searching through deserts and caves. This is when Indy left Marion to go search for important artifacts and she pined for him -- they were in love when he left.

The second verse talks about him gathering "figures in the clay" which can refer to buried artifacts or clay artifacts. It says that he can't "save them all" -- as in "that belongs in a museum!!!"

The last one is when Indy returns to Marion (Raiders). He "looks so tired" b/c it's referring to the part where they are escaping on the boat -- you know, the "where doesn't it hurt?" scene.

It may be a bit crazy, but it makes sense when you think about it!!!
