@LordRetard - you've almost got it, but I think it's the other way around
It's in response to all the people (including your mother) who says you'll never amount to anything and you should give up on your dreams and just get a "normal" job.
"These things you'll never be" are the reponse to criticism.
"Taste your fate - all that you'll ever be" is what you should be thinking about.
Love your life unconditionally, and if people say you can't do something: chase them down, string them up and hate the ones who bring you down.
And if your biggest critic is your mother, then ... well you know what to do ...
