Fire Away Lyrics

i was hella listening to this album yesterday, and i think i get it now.

i think this song is about war, and how people go through this.. running around "sworded streets" and stuff.

"stand on the ground and get out of this weather. it's something i know you need." they're trying to encourage them to stand up, to be strong, and to stay out of the bad weather, because everything isn't a good sight and they deserve a break from it all.

"and what makes it alright doesn't make it all better. what slips through our hands, we keep." even though they kill people so that they can win, it doesn't solve war or world peace or the problem or anything. what slips through their hands are bullets from the guns, and they keep it inside of them that they killed someone; it stays with them forever.

"lose your focus on the stairs, and i'm standing on both sides. there's a special moment, no one's there, but it doesn't get noticed in time." someone's confused and doesn't know what to do, but there's no time to think, so they just shoot.

"i can tell you've been here before. don't cover your eyes if you can't see." you shouldn't be allowed to close your eyes if you can't even see the truth; like, what's really happening and what everyone has gotten their selves into; with war and everything.

yeah, i could listen to this song all day. there's so much meaning.

P.S. idk if i'm right about the moral of the song.
