I'd definately be pissed if someone wrote this about me. BUT if you were betrayed (as i know a lot of us have been) sometimes you just have to let a friend go. they are simply not worth your friendship. Having that said, artists write most lyrics based on the events in their life and what they are feeling. its really hard to pull some random subject out your ass and write about something you have no experience with. im sure some of us here write lyrics and/or music...and raise your hand if you've ever written about a situation, good or bad, in your life. they have every right to write about this subject...and it just so turns out it ended up on the record. so...basically what you're saying is any artist that writes a song publicly about a bad thing that happenned in there life that involved someone else is wrong for doing so.

ok, im going to stop my rant. i think i made my point.

i wouldnt even call that a rant. if it were one i would have lost interest. i have to agree with you. it sucks on both ends, the betrayer and the betrayed. i (the betrayed) have written songs that i hope my ex-girlfriend and faux-edgers (both are the betrayers) will hear. its almost revenge, but not quite. things just need to be expressed.

Its hard to defend either side: the betrayer or the betrayed. Sometimes the betrayed does something that deserves being betrayed over, and yet, in a general view, its wrong to turn your back. I've been in a situation where something VERY wrong was going down, and I HAD to betray friends to stand up for what was right and make my own point clear. Sometimes you have to be on the other side of your friend's, or you'd just be a follower.
