i kinda believe this song is about nikola. For one reason really. Millencolin always mentions references to previous songs, and in duckpond he talks about how he feels kinda jealous and envious of the people moving on and living there lives. at the end of the song he says "I'm too weak I'm down on my knees. Too feeble for something new. Feels like there's nothing I can do.

Be that one." now if you think about it millencolin wasn't that big and successful and they've grown into a much more successful and known about band. so maybe now hes tryin to say "i did it my way and still made it, and now im the one laughing." either way this one of the best songs on the album!!!!
