You can tell by Nabokov's reference to 'princedom by the sea' and 'exhibit number one is what the seraphs, the misinformed, simple, noble-winged seraphs, envied', which relate directly to Poe's 'kingdom by the sea' and 'a love that the winged seraphs of heaven coveted her and me'.
