This song means so much to me. It was the last song they played at my sister's funeral when i was very young and to me the song is more about someone who is almost god given hence the "angel's got together" and has been taken away from you hence why you want to be "close to" it. She was a popular and fun-loving girl and that's why "all the girls in town" followed her "all around." That's what I think it means anyway...and it always brings me to tears. Always imagined it was a song about a girl.
