Awesome song. I think that most of it is pretty much easy to understand. The girl, Rachael, has a dark past and dysfunctional relationships with all the men in her life. Then in the chorus the guy singing asks her, "what if this does not belong to you,
and all the things you thought were true
turned out to just be someone else's lies." That her memories of the incident may not even be hers but those of others. To which she replies the same chourus to the singer, suggesting that maybe their relationship and love "turned out to be just someone else's lies." That her love did not belong to him.
