The first and second verses are about being brought up without a foundation and without any convictions or moral compass.

The chorus is about dealing with the fact that just because you say you are a Christian does not mean you will be saved. How can you be saved if all you do is sin? To be a REAL Christian you have to imitate Jesus' love and be an all-around good person.
