I think this song is about a realationship turning sour and him saying he will always haunt her "But in her dreams is where i will haunt her".
The line "I've seen the shadow of this burning angel." is saying that he has seen the the shadow of her falling from grace, he thought she was an angel but now she falls from grace, burning. (brings up images of icarus in my mind)
