The singer says it's about God. The first Already Over is about addictions controlling his life and the second is about coming back to god and being redeemed. You can't argue with the person that wrote the song

em well, maybe because the singer explained the song...
and when you're christian it's sort of... God is a part of everything you do... They don't ALWAYS write about God but ultimately he's the center of the band...
These songs don't have to do with RELIGION.... They're about his addictions and how goes to God for help..
But yeah not EVERY song has to be about God... Just like 99.9% rofl

It's true, not every single song by a Christian band is about God. Look at Project 86 or Family Force 5 or Emery. However, please know this: It's not about religion, it's about relationship, which is why many people (including myself) believe that this song is about God. Think about it form a relationship standpoint: you need trust. This song is about trusting in someone to help them, someone who can do what the singer can't. They are turning to a "higher power", in a sense. This song is about surrender, hence why the song is slower. The fight is...

And honestly, no matter what you believe, that person is always going to be God. The Truth is the Truth, it's not a relevant to the scenario, and He can handle the problems that we can't. We can try, we can turn to other humans and they may be able to comfort and console us and share their struggles, too, but they can't fix anything of ours. They are just like us: human. We were meant to trust in Him because He can do what we can't.
Sorry to sound like I"m preaching. I'm speaking from life experience, not from a higher-than-thou pulpit. I know pain, who doesn't? I know that God helps, fixes, heals, renews... He does so much that we can't. That I can't. Don't take it from this post only, though. I"m not writing doctrine. Go search for Him on your own. You may be surprised at what you find.
Why are there so many people who feel the need to claim every song is about God?
Niether version has anything to do with religion.
Totally agreed! Just because they are a religious band, doesn't have to mean that they want to sing about God and Christ 24/7!
