I'd have to disagree with dragonflydamsel. Instead of thinking of 'wheels' as a noun, you have to see it as a verb. The song is about a girl who has gone through her life, meeting disappointment after disappointment, but through it all maintaining her charm, and her glorious outlook on life. And the chorus goes through her life, marking the little milestones that make it. Jumps at the age of three. Tears by thirteen, and when she turns eighteen, she discovers high heels, and her sensuality. By twenty three she had given up on most of her dreams of prince charming and love, but still keeps a small part with her secret spell.

I agree with you both, I feel it's about holding onto that 'secret spell' and surviving by it.. This reminds me, perhaps strangely, of the book 1984. In it the book closes as the small part of Winston which held the hope through torture is tested and, finally, destroyed by 'Big Brother'. But Tori (have to love her) is hitting it with optimism, that we need to adapt and turn it around. She's a great artist
