the situation where you love someone, but that it can't work, and you can't force it to work. and maybe it's even gotten tot he point where it's bad for you, and you know you have to get out of it. it's so hard, but you know it's right. you don't want to have to admit it and leave, but you have to. and sometimes the best thing is "pretending like i never really knew you," because then you block out the feelings and the memories. it's one of the most painful realizations, but it happens.
