This song is about finding solace in the fact that you love yourself despite any short comings you've had that may haunt you and break you down.

The lyricss point to this. A. Hes broken down - " remorse, spinning, regret" B. He's not giving up - " I crane to rise above" C. Abandoned by others, he is lost. But when he overcomes this depression he can find himself again "I know your waiting for me. I know you'll still be there"

If the song had been about anyone else, as some of you have put it, then it would probably not be titled 'Letter to Myself'. I have written a letter to myself before, and when I wrote down the word " you" obviously I was writing to myself. It is therapy.

Never give up on yourself, even if the world has moved on from you.

This is what I get from the lyrics and the tone of the music.
