When I first heard this song my first thought was that it was a breakup, or at least a 'let's-take-a-break' song. It doesn't sound like a successfully functioning relationship... almost as if the singer hates his girlfriend.
I think it's saying 'Leave me alone for awhile, we can try again when we've both had a chance to mature'. He wants space, judging from the song title itself, and the lyrics 'Are you dying to believe
