i think this song is about having a friend who's a drug addict.
like: Never see the high beyond the low
No wonder, you lay twitching.
that sounds like opiate addiction straight up.
and the repetition of the line "please don't give me your word", because it's terrible having someone promise time and time again that they'll get better, and they never do.
I don't think it's about anything as specific as drug addiction... more a general feeling of desperation for something more out of life. However, I do agree that a friend/lover is involved - they're offering the person an escape from the mundanity of their lives (hence the line 'we'll go where there's no snow').

I absolutely adore these lyrics. They're not too specific or personal to the songwriter - they just create this beautiful sense of hope, intimacy and love, which is something I think everyone dreams of capturing at some point in their lifetime.

In fact, I'd actually...
In fact, I'd actually go as far to say that 'do you share the rush to be alone?' is one of my favourite lyrics of all time. Just incredible.
And I also have to agree with Nuclear.Sky - his voice is stunning. It's ethereal and heavenly to the point of being out of this world. A lot of my friends instantly reject it because 'he sounds like a woman' - but honestly, I think his voice is beyond gender - it's the voice of an angel. Simple. As.
