Being from Texas myself, I hate how it is always associated with Bush when he is not really a fair representative of the people in the state. Just like he isnt really a fair representative of what everyone in America thinks, even though he is from America just like he's from Texas.

I think thats kind of what this song is talking about in a way, except more specifically in the case of nuclear attack. Why should I be the target of nuclear war when I had absolutely nothing to do with the horrible decisions made by some dipsh*ts in office.

I also love how he never specifically mentions Bush, but leaves it as more of an abstract concept while alluding to the "dialect drawls" and such. Bush isnt evil, hes a great guy, the problem is that he should be the owner of the Texas Rangers and not the president of the US. Im sure Britt Daniel feels the same misrepresentation from our fellow statesman.
