Actually, they aren't Cenobites in Nightbreed. Cenobites are the creatures who claim the life of whoever has opened the Lament Configuration in Hellraiser. Anyway, Hailtothemike is almost correct. He is mostly correct in his references. But the song is not just simply based on the movie. It's more of a man who has created this world (Midian) in his head. It's his escape from his conscious mind into imagination. The more he thinks about it, the more real it becomes, and he swears he's seen it. His strong belief causes his local society to think he is insane so he is taken to a mental ward where he still dreams of escape, but is having doubts of Midian's existence.

use these lines as reference:

"Sore sights that preyed on Me for days And in laudanum's haze I painted them all...."

[laudanum produces hallucinaions]

"I know I've seen Through the blackbacked mirrors in sanity Lucent prides amassed in last retreat Prurient souls but no more freaks Than those leashing dreams at harm's length from Me And just like grim ascension prophecies My revenge, carved deep, will be A grisly plot that reads Like My filthy white ward spattered with their screams When My Deviliverers come from fog for Me...."

[He is still fighting for his belief that the Nightbreed will come to rescue him]

"Exhuming the moon Through the bars in My room The sooner the bitter pills swallowed are through.... But no Genotypes, Aphrodites Daemonarchetypes No Cenobites rise to claim Me for you"

[He is starting to realize that none of these creatures are coming to save him. He is alone with only his imagination]

"No! No! No! Don't leave here in this storm weathered cell No! No! No! With prophets and losses And dead men on crosses My fate is a preview of derelict Hell"

[This is obvious. He is getting desparate and crying out. He does not wish to be stuck in the mortal world where others' beliefs do not match his own. He wants to be with beings that can share his pain, his thoughts, and his feelings. But all he has are his reflections of his own mind, and his padded walls.]
