I think the tone of this song is overall lamenting and sarcastic. Lines like "I'm Mr. Badguy/They're all afraid of me/I can ruin people's lives" seem to be exaggerated and in an off-hand way, witty, more than anything else. I wasn't there in 1984, but I'm willing to bet that, like most rock stars, Freddie was often stereotyped as being a morally corrupt, life-ruining bad influence that led the young and innocent astray. Ironically, people who point fingers like this often are the very people who rarely take a good look at what or whom they're insulting before they fire away, causing the object of their insults to be frustrated with the insulter's blind hate. Freddie was no doubt troubled by this, and hence we have "Mr Badguy." Yet, lines like "Can't you see it is my destiny" seem to reveal that Freddie has accepted his fate, albeit glumly and not without sarcasm.
