I kind of agree with casemore, though I think it also has to do with wanting to be something else, wanting to be somewhere else. Wanting life to be more than it is. Having to pretend to be something you're not just to fit in, but still wanting to be more, and wanting people (or someone specific) to notice and like you for who you really truly are.
