The parts about needing true emotions is probably abour him being engulfed in the darkness for so long he has forgotten true emotions. and I need more affection that you know is probably linked to the fact he is alone and in effect, Kairi chose him over Sora.
Some say that he's speaking to Sora in that point, thus giving reason to believe he could even be attracted to Sora. But only if your a SoraXRiku shipper ;]
