I don't think this song is only about boredom. It's about the whole concept of the "starving" artist.

"My pockets got holes, i guess the goal's to stay empty."

I believe the "green-eyed temptress" he's referring to is a metaphor for money. Sure, money can be tempting but it won't buy happiness. The people around him seem to bore him because the have very little artistic appreciation and he seems torn between making money, and preserving true art.

He realizes that his art will never be truly appreciated until the next generation comes along. So he has feelings of worthlessness, but finds comfort in the fact that he could be famous after his death. This fact causes him to lose motivation to paint/rap/whatever periodically, so he'll find other ways to pass the time.
