Okay, I just listened to the long version and okay, the lyrics on here are right (or mostly right, I think) but now the song has a totally different meaning, one of which relating to the lyrics "I don't want to live in your side, though the rose is vermillion." I think that means he doesn't want to be a thorn in the girl's side, though he loves her and has passion for her (vermillion basically being red, which symbolizes love and passion in roses and other things).
That's all i've got right now. But it's genius! lol
P.S. This guy's voice is amazing . . . For some reason whatever he sings makes me think of the 30s and 40s (particularly "Lavinia" and "Talk Down the Girl", for some reason) and it makes me sad because then I get reminded of the movie Atonement. Strange?
