This whole album has a great shelf life, songs still sound great after countless listens (the production helps, yeah).
This song in particular stands out (along with Ms. Lazarus) as one of the best. When I first heard it I thought it just sounded like one of the cliche slow songs on so many 90's bands albums... boy was I wrong.
This song has racked up an easy 100+ plays on my ipod. The lyrics are fantastic and delivered by the cucumber-cool calmness of Matt Talbot.
"like if we ignore the systems they'll just blink out and quickly go away"
Gotta make money, got to have a job. Matt's gotta chase his dream of being in a rock band... still has to pay the bills though. Such brutal "adult not fully realizing his dream" feelings.. such a bummer.
"never ever stepping out into.." - and then the light 'chinese crash hit, floors me everytime.
