This is my favorite unreleased Metro Station song. I LOVE it.
To me, it sounds like Trace or Mason...whoever wrote the song...was with this girl and she was completely in love with him, but he wasn't really feeling it. "These motions are useless, that's what I'd say." He wanted to tell her he wasn't really into it, but he held back. When they finally broke up, he felt bad, and he questioned himself. "Now I'm asking, was it real?" But he says he can't stop what he feels, so basically he's confused about love.
