1st verse=The people(i assume friends) are huddled together, hoping that the morning wont come(when it does they have to leave each other)But inevitably the sun is coming up,and ending not only that day but also whatever relationship they had.
Chorus= the friends are going seperate ways, things are changing, and maybe they themselves are, but they can remember their relationship and possibly even continue it-it may just be different.eg long distance.
2nd verse-refers to love-something that friends typically help each other through.Someones heart breaks, everyone pulls together and is there for them.Or the heart breaking could just be referring to them going their seperate ways and all being hurt by it.."These are the times that define..."-how they handle this will decide if they can keep in touch, stay the best of friends or whatever,as well as the people they will be(after all life is full of change and choices.).Its hard to leave, but they have to to grow up.
"And sometimes it's hard when everything changes.
Sometimes it feels like the world is unfolding.
This is when the impossible becomes possible."
You feel at the time that you wont be able to go on without the person-but you somehow cope-its possible.
"So unafraid, we hadn't lived.
We'll be okay.
Without a care in the whole world.
We'll be okay"
They were so young, couldnt predict the trouble and pain of the future. But they have now been through so much together,he can now confidently say "we'll be okay"
Just my interpretation.and I agree,it WOULD be a beautiful graduation song.
Incidentally, does anyone know if this is part of the adalia story?
