And yes, Marc Bolan tragically died too young instantly in a car crash two weeks before his 30th birthday and he wasn't the driver. It is documented that he had a premonition and fear that he would die in a car accident. Whether that is what drove him to write so many songs with cars in the lyrics is unknown.
