i think that she would do anything for this guy that keeps leaving her and keeps coming back. she's never cared about what anyone else thought of her until him (and i was never looking for approval from anyone but you)
"and though this journey's over" she isn't dead yet, because, as she states many times, he'll be back again.
also, she plays tough on the outside and doesn't want him to know that it hurts her, because she says "underneath the ink of my tattoo, i've tried to hide my scars from you".
