Don't know when Bruce wrote this song, but as the father of a girl, I can sympathize. Obviously, Ricky is a young girl (15?16?) and her parents still think of her as their "little" girl. But she has grown up and wants her independence, much to her parents dismay. For those of you who are parents, this song must ring true and for those of us who were once teens like Ricky, you understand as well.
