The movie and soundtrack feature a live version of this song. A studio version was not included in the Beneath the Shawdows albums, although it was rumored to had been recorded. When the original core of TSOL started reuniting 15 years later, Darker My Love was the most requested song to be included on a new studio album, but all three records released in the new TSOL era have not included a new version.

Obviously the song is about a love gone wrong, spoken through some very dark metaphor (eyes blacker than hell). Jack also admits , like sunset, as soon as she loves him less, he loves her more.
