Some history: Darker My Love was a song TSOL did for the movie Suburbia in 1982, during their brief transition into a post-punk new wave band (following the footsteps of their idols The Damned). The movie and soundtrack feature a live version of this song. A studio version was not included in the Beneath the Shawdows albums, although it was rumored to had been recorded. When the original core of TSOL started reuniting 15 years later, Darker My Love was the most requested song to be included on a new studio album, but all three records released in the new TSOL era have not included a new version.

Finally, TSOL has offered this song on their SnoCap STore on their myspace page. It sounds like the original recording with new vocals from Jack Grisham.

Obviously the song is about a love gone wrong, spoken through some very dark metaphor (eyes blacker than hell). Jack also admits , like sunset, as soon as she loves him less, he loves her more.
