i think it's about two people who've reached some sort of crossroads or breaking point in their relationship. and the one singing this song, he wants to be with her so badly, but he has no idea how he can possibly reach her because she doesn't see him in the same way anymore.
and he's not sure where he's going, and maybe some part of him feels like he's dying as he's losing her.. he's starting to go under the ground because he's without her..
