The president has to the power to decide if gay couples can marry. And we've all seen the excuses people use by saying "marriage is sacred between a man and a woman". In this song he points out that it is sacred to gay couples as well; who are the president and other politicians to decide what is and isn't sacred to a person?

I believe that says it all :) Because society is unaccepting, their ignorance, or sheer stupidity, interrupts the lives of people who would like to marry their partner and create a life together.
