to me it's about monotony first of all. damon seems to cover that in a lot of his lyrics.
"Bang goes another day
In and out of one ear
Everybody's doing it so do it too"
makes you think of someone (very 'Ernold Same'-like if you will) working a shite, boring job, doing the same thing every day.
the sensory deprivation tank makes a lot of sense, especially in the sense of physical isolation. that can tie into the line "i don't need anyone, but a little love would make things better."
cutting yourself off from chances at love? dunno, i'm rambling really.
fantastic song, great lyrics. unbelievable it's off a debut really. honestly leisure is one of their better albums i think.
