Well, to me.... I know it's a little extreme....This song is about a guy/girl who was in a relationship with this person before, High school sweetheart or what-have you; basically “young love”. Anyways, they were both really in love and promised each other that they would love each other forever….. But things happen and the guy/girl breaks up with this other person.
A few years later (or months whatever) the guy/girl realizes that he made a mistake and comes back to the girl/guy, wanting them back. He/She’s telling him that they were perfect for each other and that they still love this person. However, the girl/guy doesn’t feel the same anymore, they’ve changed…. She/he still cares for him but it’s nothing more. And now the guy feels as though he is “The winner in a loosing game”
