The end of Pawn Shoppe Heart is not thievery. It is most definitely the exact same lyrics as Otis Redding's song "Try A Little Tenderness".
Laguna72: it's hard to hear what Stollsteimer's saying because he does the song so differently from the original, but the lyrics are exactly the same. He didn't just reference the song with the line 'try a little tenderness' it is a cover and there is no theft whatsoever.
Jason Stollsteimer is very much influenced by Otis Redding. If you listen to "Sound of Terror" on their debut album, Lack Of Communication, you will, after the break, hear Lauren Wilcox singing another Otis Redding song "Bring It On Home To Me". The Von Bondies didn't steal anything. Jason has said he's influenced by Otis Redding and at the end of the last track on both of their studio albums, they've always done an Otis Redding cover.
I had to make an account just to comment on this.
