his life had gone to shit because his disastrous lie of a love affair but he didn't want to believe it. the chorus explains it all that part well. when one is in a COMA, they are unconscious and unable to sense anything that's going on around them... like this guy in the song who was numb during and after this relationship/love affair. he knew it was all fake but he went along with it, cause he had to hold onto something. eventually he lost her and his life went down to shit. the whole "play" was fucked. all the necessary players in the play lost hope.. or something like that. i don't know. james munoz lyrics are so cryptic, one could say a lot of things about their lyrics.
