I sort of feel like their battle isnt so much external but internal.
Like they feel they're loosing it.. the relationship is slipping and what they have left they're trying to savor before it's time to let it go.
It especially makes sense if you read it as Knight and not night
Or at least I kind of want it to be a tragic love story like that XD
