This belief of ours is justified by the start of the song: "We’re wasting precious time, the clock is ticking can you hear the countdown?" Also, the words "NO SORROW, NO TOMORROW" emphasise that this appears to be the last day of life.
Sounds to me like the reckoning that life is finite, and that it doesn't matter what happens, and to make the most of the time you have left, as it is running out quickly. "No more I care to live when I’m just born to die."
And the chorus "Never before, never again. Behold this travesty. Never before, never again. Behold adversary," Translates to 'Never before, never again, behold this ||MOCKERY/ FARCE/ CHARADE / PARODY / TAKE OFF, etc|| Never before, never again behold ||YOUR CHALLENGER/ YOUR OPPONENT/ YOUR RIVAL, etc.|| These are words used instead of Travesty and Adversary, for those who arent sure.
I also believe that the meaning of these well chosen words is to "Never before, never again" underestimate or make a mockery or a fool of your closest and oldest rival, death.
